Success! Of course it works. And no need to use up my precious batteries. Granted, I feel anti-social when I'm listening to music, so I usually don't do it for the entire day, but when I don't I'm not sitting around having conversations, so. Whatever.
This morning I've done... nothing. I retouched the vodafone mock-up I've been working on, while I checked my email/emailed/read everyone's journals. That took me till 1045 or so. Then I asked if there was maybe work I should be doing, so I started scanning, but then the thing I was scanning off of was needed for a meeting. So then I typed up this super confidential letter ... dun dun dun. Now, it's just me and the blog. Hmm lunch in an hour and a half ... what should I have today? Toast and jam and some grapefruit? Ah, yes... sounds like breakfast, but mmmmm. Yes, that is what I'm doing. I have nothing else to do besides blog and think about lunch and I could write some emails. Haha. Usually I'm pretty busy ... not today.
Roommate troubles are all coming out. I'm willing to admit how bad the situation sucks. The thing is that it sucks from Mike and Bart's perspectives, too. No one is very happy. Turns out she and the girl from the other flat requested to move to West Tenter the first week they were here, and requested again last week. Good thing is, a girl over there is supposed to be leaving mid-February because she was doing a 5 or 6 week student teaching thing. I also heard though, that they won't go unless they both can. Maybe they will though. Maybe I'll have a double single? I'd take a new roommate though, seriously, I don't think it could be worse. It's not even that she does anything, it's just her horrible, bitchy, self centered, condescending, introverted attitude and it's wreaking havoc on everyone in the house, except maybe Kurt. I don't know. No one's that happy. It's still "okay" but it's getting kind of uncomfortable. I'm thinking maybe Christy and I would just switch spots if they don't get to move. It'd suck for Mike and Bart but it would be great for me. Oh well, we'll see.
Hmmm still not doing anything. By the time they're done this meeting and I do the scanning, maybe it will be lunch time. I'm going to drop off my film from Bath, and it should be ready tomorrow. I wish I'd done it this morning, because then I could have got them back after work. I need to figure out some sort of FTP thing to use so I can put pictures up. I'm sure I can use the scanner. I can sort of do whatever I like here, it's nice.
I was just thinking I could sign onto quick buddy... but it's 630 a.m. at home.
I'm psyched for my fam to come! Calling them tonight to get their info/finalize plans. I'm not coming into work Monday, which means a full day Friday, but it will be worth it. I think I'll prob miss class too. I think I can just borrow Kate's notes. He said last week "next week we'll be watching old German movies instead of old Russian movies." Haha. The class is definitely more interesting than that makes it sound. It's not very difficult, but it's interesting, especially because the class is long enough that we can watch entire films. I don't know if I already mentioned it, but a couple of weeks ago we watched L'Appartement which was interesting. I think we watched it for it's narrative style.
back to work!

1127 am Wednesday
I've been bringing CDs to work lately, which has been v. nice. Monday it was Jawbreaker/JTB mix, Kel's surprise mix, and Dashboard. Yesterday was Piebald, Jawbreaker, and Hey Mercedes until I ran out of battteries. I just started up today with HM.
Wow, I also just realized I'm stupid. There's a CD drive, of course, and it's got a head phone plug.... I'm gonna give it a try.

Things are good here in London.
Bath was FANTASTIC. You got to walk around on 2000 year old stones that Romans walked on and their original drainage systems still work. I've never been to a historical site like this one - everything was just right there.
We went up Friday on the bus and stayed in a hostel. The hostel was pretty cool, run by young people, crazy murals on the walls. Each room was a different music genre - we were all in Rock and my bed was The Eagles... weird. There was a bar in the basement, which was tiny and really old, with curved ceilings. The bar wasn't extensive but the people were friendly and all drinks were £2. There were couches and loud music and a pool table and people. We got in kind of late so when we went out to check out pubs, almost everything was closing, and all of the places with late licenses were clubs charging £5 or so to get in, and none of us had the energy for it at that point, so back to the hostel, which has a 24 hour liquor license (so the bar is open till 6 am....!), for another drink, then off to bed.
Saturday we got up pretty early, got breakast and went to the Baths. It was a beautiful day and after we took a long walk up towards the Royal Crescent. We went through a park with ponds and a botanical garden on our way and ended up trekking past the Crescent. We made our way back and over the the Museum of Costume, which was kind of a let down. It started to rain when we were trying to find somewhere to eat (not an easy thing to do in England at 430 in the afternoon, since places are open for lunch, then close till 5 or 6, and are open for dinner - or they at least shut their kitchens down - - you can always get a pint). We ate, stopped back at the hostel, and got on the bus, got back late, hung out, and went to bed, thank god. Haha. I was exhuasted, but it was really fun.
I slept from pretty much midnight Saturday till 11 Sunday, it was fantastic. It was a great day out and Adrienne and I went to Camden Town for the markets. We both ended up with some great candles, I got a great bag for only £8, a simple little wire toothbrush holder, a present for mum, and shower gel from the Body Shop that was on sale! It was great - they have evvvverything at that market, and it was great to be outside on a nice day. Sunday night we went to see Gosford Park at the Barbican, which was only £5 and had very comfy seats, but no popcorn. I really liked the movie. I came home and there was a message that Adam had called, so I called him back and talked forever which was really good.
Yesterday was class and work and it was a great day for mail! In between class and work, I found a PACKAGE from mum with socks and valentine's card!!!, a package from study abroad with some reminders and two issues of The Scarlet, and a package from RLH about housing, at which I could laugh and be filled with joy at the thought of no more dorms! After work Mike gave me a package slip belonging to me and I ran to the post office and got it before they closed - it was the package from Lori and it was soooo much better than I even thought it might be! It was a birthday/christmas/goingaway/valentines gift with FOAMING HAND SOAP! and lotion and caaaaaaaandy and stickers and stuff all in a powerpuff bag
Okay I'm on AIM Quick Buddy now and everyone keeps popping up into my typing so I'm gonna go.
