the beach trip with the work crew was good times. we went to gloucester and even got to walk out to the little island and climbed up to the top. it was a fun day. i'm so glad i've had the chance to spend so many entire days doing things like swimming this summer.

i washed my car yesterday, i made $13 at work today. haha. i dunno, but things are good in general.

possibly getting sandwiches this weekend? that could be good times. and danielle is hanging out after she sees the "american idols" show (hahaha).

i have been staying up laaaate.

went out with work people again thursday. different group this time. richard and i peaced out for a bit but i met back up and went to breakfast with two of the girls. super bonding. made money friday, another late night. yesterday was such a fun day ... breakfast (although it was almost 1 in the afternoon), saw 28 days later and i liked it, even though i was almost physically ill a few times. driving around with good music on the radio and all the windows open, hit up DQ, grilled for dinner and i made pasta salad, then fun times out -- katie finally got free of the 17 year old summer science kids and spent the whole day & night with us. so fun! such a summer day. no swimming, which was sad ... but we all got up way too late.

going to the beach monday, yeay! going to see the plan in boston wednesday i think. fun times ahead. :)

yesterday i got my car fixed ... well it wasn't broken but i took it in to get the airbag recall deal fixed up, which makes me happy. spent an hour hitting balls on the board at the high school. bought ugly new shoes for work (but they're comfortable & appropriate, i wore em today). had lunch with mum at panera! yum! my sister got me a new abe lincoln book "the wit and wisdom of ..." score. looks pretty good. i also finished the end of the affair. i was surprised how much of it was about god. it was a sort of devastatingly sad book, for example "It was as though our love were a small creature caught in a trap and bleeding to death: I had to shut my eyes and wring its neck." I don't know what to read next. I have lots of used books to choose from.

today was just work ... funeral reception of 39 people ... just me working it ... $$$. excellent. didn't do very much this afternoon besides some reading and a lot of dishes but that was very productive. class was all right except the sort-of-friends i sit with kept talking, not whispering but talking ... it was a pretty boring class, but that was just rude. the student presentations were highly uninteresting and the information was highly repetitive of 161.

things i forgot to mention .... went out last thursday with people from work. it was good times, interesting. there were 7 of us, then 6, then 5 for the end of the night. we definitely need to have a party somewhere so the younger ones can come and everyone can hang out. that's when i really got to know everyone last summer. the worst/weirdest part of the night was this funny/weird guy at the bar pulls kris over and eventually kris is like, uhm jen this guy wants to hug you. you look like his friend that died. what do you say to that? so i hugged the man. it was weird. not in a sketchy way but more in an i'm-a-surrogate-dead-girl --- saddest kind of way.

tons of random people all know some one who looks like me, but i don't know anyone who looks remotely like me, and neither does anyone i know. in a store once a woman was actually talking to me and called me "emily" as did the child in her cart. it was a long time ago.

goodnight.

ended up with the whole weekend off from work ... making up one of the shifts wednesday night so i won't be exceedingly poor or anything. friday was danielle's birthday and she and fletcher and meredith came down and we went out for dinner & things. had a delicious watermelon cosmo at peppercorn's - yum. melon sugared edge and watermelon puree all in a fun glass? oh yes.

came home to the lb yesterday to help paint my bedroom. went to the drive-ins with the fam. super wholesome. saw charlie's angels whatever and t3. i liked em both, even though they were not wonderful amazing movies or anything. i think the soundtrack really drove charlie's angels and i just liked the terminator, even if it did just sort of summarize the past two movies. we did learn a few new things. i want there to be a terminator 4 and we get to see john connor all grown up and mid- or post-resistance.

today was awesome and spent at salisbury beach reading and sunning and chatting and relaxing and riding waves in! woohoo! on our way out we saw the water temp was 58degrees. we are tough. so much fun. seafood for dinner, etc., fun day with the lb girls & some of their umass girls. here at home, mum and dad finished painting the room. excellent. it looks bigger with white walls and is all nice and fresh and ready for all my old stuff ... i keep saying i will keep it all nice so it can be a "guest room" ... i think i have a few more times of going through & chucking stuff out before it gets quite there ... but it will.

my class is going well. thursday we went out for the first hour or so and observed people communicating and reported back. for real. we went to friendly's. yum. but everyone's observations were interesting ... it was weird for the three of us 5thyears because a lot of the statements were really general - in the stereotypical and closeminded sense, and it made me really aware that this program is really seperate from the rest of Clark, and the students are very different. john made some nice points about how much life is happening in just the short distances we went from campus. it was really sort of just exciting to think about. it's obvious, yes, but amazing when you remember.

thursday - FIREWORKS - i had some worcester pride when i saw how great the fireworks display was. Super Chinese Buffet, however, left me much less impressed. Aaron & Scott's first party on Shirley was good times, even though we didn't stay long. meredith came down for SCB, megan and berkley showed up for fireworks, danielle and fletcher and meliss all showed up in time for the party. random crowd. leit's, the blarn ... packed and good times. we came back here, me thinking the house was empty. aaron had my keys and was a few minutes behind so it was a marvelous opportunity to break into my own house with ease, involving yard chairs, a window screen that slid up easily and a nice futon to fall on. remind me to keep that one locked up at night. in the end, mariss and vin were here asleep, so the party was confined to my bedroom and the kitchen and meliss and danielle hunted for some place open with food. it was lots of randomness i could talk about forever. but it was a good time.

friday was work, and everything i heard about the place being busy on the 4th did not hold true. i could see how it might have in past years, with the fourth being a weeknight .... sadly, i've never made as little money on a closing shift as i did that night. craziness was happening on surrounding streets involving parties and fireworks i was sure would set fire to trees in a neighbor's backyard. hit up the (empty) blarn with adrienne. finished reading harry potter (so good). i refused to be disappointed in the 4th considering the fun i had thursday, and the fun to be had saturday.

saturday got up real early and went to ct. bought fireworks with kate, swam all day with lots of people, drank busch light while floating around in a pink tube. jumped off the diving board during the rain shower. awesome day. so fun. my skin's all brown and i slept so so so well.

sunday back to work but made money, visited dougs, went to the lb. did laundry and went out for lunch monday. watched the pianist which i thought was great, but did not love. maybe because i didn't watch it straight through ... i don' t know. slept there again. slept well, but had crazy dreams. crazy dreams. woke up, came to work, made money (yeay).

had my first "comm theory and research" class tonight. seems like it will be good, although highly repetitive of key parts of several of my undergrad classes. visited katie in the dorm tonight, watched phone booth, definitely liked it. drank sangria from a clarkfund water bottle thingy, made popcorn. went to the blarn. nothin big, but it's been only good times. :)

reading the end of the affair

goodnight

there's clean laundry all over my bed. i'm joyous from my past few days.

just got back from the jets to brazil show. Awesome. Started with the frequency, ended with sea anemone, and was a great great set in between. :) they played one song "from the fourth album," and it was great ... a little bit of a different sound, just like the last 3 have had, but it was great.

fun night.

still trying to finish harry potter. been working. saw the italian job last night, i really liked it. it made me want a mini more than i already did, and was a fun movie. monday night we made a little fire in the hibachi and made s'mores. slept till noon today for no good reason. :)
